Make a bookmark using leftover ribbon

I have no idea where I got this ribbon. It's a pretty, midnight blue, sheer wire ribbon. I had only a foot of it. I suppose I could have made a bow for a very small package, I doubt that that would have happened, though. If I had to wrap a very small present with this ribbon, I probably would have forgotten that I had the ribbon, where I put it, it wouldn't have been long enough, etc. etc. You know how it goes. So, I made a bookmark.

Tip: to save time use felt snowflakes with sticky backs.

What you need

  • 10" wide (1.5") ribbon
  • 4 small snowflakes
  • 2 large snowflakes
  • Matching thread
  • 1 silver tassel

What to do

  • Use needle and thread or sewing machine to edge one end of ribbon to prevent fraying.
  • Apply snowflakes on both sides of ribbon, aligning them evenly.
  • Miter the other end of the ribbon by making one 45 degree angle on one side and then the other. Stitch into place.
  • Sew on tassel.
