Help with Primary Colors

It always surprises me when crafters write about color and don't show the colors they to which they are referring. I want to see them! Let's start with the primary colors.

Primary means that these colors cannot be made by mixing other colors together. Sometimes green is added to the primary colors. But, it can be made by mixing blue and yellow; so, it is not a primary color. What do we crafters do with these colors? What do they remind you of? They are basic and tend to be used in objects intended for children. There was also that abstract trend in art popularized by Piet Mondrian . So I guess we crafters can use them when we are attempting to be bold and simple. While they are usually friendly and welcoming, isolated primary color squares can be stark and abstract, especially on a white background. I wouldn’t try to do both stark and friendly images at the same time, though. It may too jarring (haha).
