Simple but stunning mum ribbon necklace
The chrysanthemum is the birth flower of November. With this necklace people born in November can wear their birth flower all year round.
Ribbon necklaces are in style right now. They are remininscent of the Victorian age. We can make and wear this simple yet elegant necklace, even if we aren't born in November and think of those times...without wearing a corset.
Tip: a hoop may be helpful while sewing in the middle beads, but not while gathering the inside corners.
What you need
2 feet sheer ribbon
1-3/4" resin flower
24 seed pearls
24 6/0 gold glass beads
ribbon crimp
toggle clasp
2 gold jumprings
pliers
ruler
needle and thread
What to do
- Find the middle of the ribbon.
- Sew resin flower securely to middle of ribbon.
- Sew on both sides of the flower three rows of pearls seperated by two rows of gold beads coming up through the back.
- Measure 1-1/2" away from beads on both sides and sew three seed pearls flanked by two rows of gold beads gathering ribbon slightly. This will make an inside corner allowing the ribbon necklace to hang better.
- Close ribbon crimp on ends of ribbon.
- Use pliers to attach clasp with jumprings.
